About Us

Our Mission

  1. Foster community, collegiality, and inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ graduate students and allies at Notre Dame,

  2. Provide a forum for discussing common needs and concerns specific to LGBTQIA+ graduate students and allies,

  3. Serve as a support and resource for LGBTQIA+ graduate students and allies,

  4. Further the University of Notre Dame’s “Spirit of Inclusion,” and

  5. Work towards fostering a “sense of human solidarity and concern for the common good” as outlined in the University of Notre Dame’s mission statement.

GradientND will work towards its goals by:

  1. Holding regular events throughout the year to (a) support community building for Notre Dame LGBTQIA+ and ally graduate students and (b) discuss issues relating to gender, sexuality, identity, and other concerns relevant to the character and mission of the University and its LGBTQIA+ and ally students,

  2. Serving as a representative for LGBTQIA+ and ally graduate students to the wider ND community, and

  3. Implementing service projects within the Notre Dame and surrounding communities to improve the quality of life for LGBTQIA+ persons; including but not limited to the topics of bullying, suicide, homelessness, and substance abuse.
